Based on the construction, color, and interior RZM label, we slightly lean toward this being a \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWaffen-SS M40 Panzer enlisted man's overseas cap\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, although we are not offering that attribution as definitive. Another possible identification is a \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eKriegsmarine garrison cap\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, and the absence of exterior insignia prevents a firm branch attribution. If this cap is indeed a Waffen-SS Panzer overseas cap, it would represent a highly desirable black wool field cap associated with German armored personnel.
