History:
Gambling in the 1800s was a high-stakes world, often laced with danger. Armed gamblers carried compact weapons like the C. Sharps & Co. pistol for self-defense, making kits like this both practical and symbolic of the frontier lifestyle. These sets were a gambler’s lifeline at card tables across saloons and riverboats.
