This extremely rare ancient Chinese warrior dagger or short sword features a carved white jade hilt paired with a forged iron blade, measuring 15.75" in total length with a 10.75" blade. The jade hilt is artistically shaped with light translucence and smooth contours, while the iron blade displays corrosion consistent with its estimated age of 1000-1500 years. A true museum-caliber artifact from early Chinese civilization.
Daggers like this were likely carried by elite military officers or ceremonial guards during China's Northern and Southern Dynasties or early Tang Dynasty periods. Jade was highly revered in ancient China-used for both spiritual and ornamental purposes-and its presence here suggests the owner held a high social or military status. This weapon reflects not only ancient craftsmanship but also the powerful symbolism jade carried in early Chinese belief systems, representing virtue, protection, and immortality.
