This exquisite 19th-century French porcelain plaque depicts three 16th-17th century Spanish or Italian musketeers standing by the city walls, armed with wheellock muskets and powder flasks. One of the musketeers is wearing a swept-hilt rapier sword and a morion helmet.
The painting is artist-signed "H. Deprez" and is a fine example of the craftsmanship of the period. The level of detail in this historical scene is remarkable, showcasing the martial attire and weapons used during the era.
