Model Cessna O-1 Bird Dog - Army Green Wooden Model Plane

This is a model of a Cessna O-1 Bird Dog (also known as the L-19A Bird Dog) observation and utility aircraft. The Cessna L-19A/O-1 Bird Dog was a single-engine, fixed-wing aircraft used by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps for various roles including artillery spotting, front-line communications, and training. 

Markings: The model features U.S. Army markings, including the serial number "12745" on the tail and "U.S. ARMY" text on the wing and fuselage, consistent with the real aircraft's livery. 

Model Type: Various companies produce scale models of this aircraft, ranging from plastic kits to large remote-control versions. The model in the image appears to be a static display model mounted on a wooden base. 

Provenance:
Previously owned by the son of a WWII pilot who also served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. These were the actual planes he flew in the wars, adding a rich historical context to this piece.
