This is a unique and historically significant Jewish Ghetto Police armband from the Holocaust era, featuring the blue Star of David along with the words "Jüdische Ghetto Polizei." Accompanying this rare piece is a Kielce Jewish Ghetto Police Order Service Badge—an artifact of extreme rarity from Kielce, Poland.
History:
During WWII, Jewish Ghetto Police were forced to serve as intermediaries between German forces and Jewish populations within occupied territories. This armband, bearing the Star of David and the words "Jüdische Ghetto Polizei," symbolized their limited authority within the ghetto system. These armbands were distributed by Waffen-SS guards, granting the bearer a rank of "Polizei" in the ghetto.
The Kielce Jewish Ghetto Police Service Badge is an incredibly rare find from this period, as most of these items did not survive. This set has been professionally matted and framed, ensuring it is preserved for future study and display. The badge is guaranteed authentic, while the armband is believed to be original based on its materials and period features.
