Croatian WW2 Independent Air Force Badge Observer & Navigator Qual.

This is a WWII-era qualification badge from the Independent State of Croatia's Air Force, awarded to observers and navigators. The badge retains its original construction with visible enameling (some loss to the red) and is stamped "835" (indicating silver content) above the clasp. A potential maker's mark is present on the center back of the badge. It remains in very good condition overall, with an intact clasp and fine surface patina.

The Independent State of Croatia (NDH) was a fascist puppet state aligned with Nazi Germany during WWII. It fielded its own military forces, including an air corps that operated under German command. This badge would have been issued to aircrew trained in reconnaissance, navigation, and target spotting. These badges are historically significant as emblems of controversial and rare WWII collaborationist militaries and remain highly collectible due to their political, military, and design history.
