Red leather sabretache with royal cypher of Queen Victoria on front flap. There were two types of sabretaches worn during the reign of Queen Victoria: the embroidered dress sabretache and red or black leather field sabretaches for everyday use. This sabretache possibly belonged to a soldier or officer of high standing as it has a backflap with a leather pocket, likely for carrying orders, maps, or other documents use in the field. Includes a braided gold bullion cord. Fair to good. Most of the leather has scratches, losses, and cracking scattered overall. Bullion cord is in good condition.
