This exceptional German World War II Heer Officer's Sword was manufactured by the renowned Solingen firm Ernst Pack & Söhne and bears the highly desirable "Siegfried" company trademark on the blade. This uncommon officer's sword features a striking solid brass leopard head pommel with beautifully preserved red glass eyes, both remaining completely intact. The sword retains its original black scabbard, matching black and silver officer's portepee, and displays in outstanding overall condition. The blade is crisply marked "Siegfried Ernst Pack & Söhne M.B.H. Waffenfabrik Solingen" and additionally bears a desirable WAFFEN marking beneath the maker's logo. The blade markings remain exceptionally sharp and legible, while the scabbard retains nearly all of its original finish. This example represents one of the finest Ernst Pack swords we have encountered in recent years.
German Heer officer swords were privately purchased weapons intended as symbols of rank, prestige, and military tradition. While numerous patterns were produced during the Third Reich period, this particular unattributed leopard head model with flat knuckle bow is rarely encountered and remains one of the scarcer variants among collectors. Ernst Pack & Söhne was one of Solingen's premier edged weapon manufacturers, producing high-quality swords, daggers, and military sidearms.
