This historic Firestone combat helmet liner belonged to Major General John Luke “Jack” Osteen Jr., a decorated veteran who served in three major U.S. wars: World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. A graduate of the United States Military Academy, Osteen’s military career is marked by extraordinary achievements and honors.

During the Korean War, he earned the prestigious Silver Star as part of the 1st Cavalry Division, 7th Cavalry (Infantry) Regiment. In the Vietnam War, he was awarded the Legion of Merit and a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a second Legion of Merit for his exceptional leadership as G-3 (Operations and Training) of the XXIV Corps and as Commanding Officer of the 1st Brigade, 5th Infantry Division, from 1968 to 1969.

The liner features his name, "OSTEEN," etched inside, making it a one-of-a-kind collectible tied to a storied military legacy. Formerly of the 77th Infantry Division, Osteen also served in the 77th Sustainment Brigade, further solidifying his pivotal role in U.S. military history.
