An original WWII-era German MP38/MP40 leather magazine pouch (1st pattern, right side), presented in complete condition with all components intact. The pouch shows expected signs of age and field use, while the leather remains in good, moderately supple condition with strong, intact stitching throughout. Has the word "VIETTE" carved into the back.
This early leather pattern was produced between 1941 and 1943 and represents one of the initial attempts to equip MP38/40 submachine gun crews with durable magazine carriers. While leather offered excellent weather resistance, it proved less practical in prolonged field conditions—particularly if water entered the pouch, making magazine removal difficult and increasing the risk of corrosion.
A scarce and historically significant example of early-war German equipment development, ideal for collectors of WWII-era German military gear.
