A beautiful original German WWII Heer officer's dress belt and buckle, preserved in exceptional near-mint condition. Designed for wear with formal and parade uniforms, this is one of the more elegant pieces of German Army officer equipment and makes an outstanding addition to a complete uniform or mannequin display.
The belt is constructed from woven silver bullion wire with parallel dark green stripes and a fabric or velvet backing. At the front is the distinctive circular aluminum officer buckle, featuring an oak leaf wreath surrounding the German national eagle.
Dress belts of this style were worn by Heer officers below general rank with formal uniforms such as the Waffenrock. Unlike ordinary combat field equipment, officer brocade belts were intended to complement the highly tailored appearance of dress and parade uniforms.
The combination of bright bullion construction, complete buckle, and exceptional condition gives this example tremendous visual appeal even when displayed entirely on its own.
