A distinguished example of a German WWII Heer Officer’s Dress Sword, this piece features a dove-headed brass hilt with a pleasing aged patina. The blade, marked E.W. Holler, Solingen, is partially concealed behind the languets, making the maker’s mark a bit hidden. The medal is maker-marked "IW" for Iohann Wagner & Sohn

The nickel-plated steel blade exhibits a gray patina and scattered blemishes, while the black wire-wrapped trylon grip remains intact with a single crack. The black-painted steel scabbard has areas of fading, abrasions, and minor dents, consistent with standard wear, including the crimping often seen from getting caught in train doors.
