This rare pair of German WW2 Heer shoulder boards represents the rank of Oberleutnant (First Lieutenant) within the elite Feldherrnhalle Infantry unit. Constructed of field-grey wool, the boards are trimmed with white infantry piping, bordered by slate-grey rayon tresses, and fitted with one gold rank pip flanked by the distinctive Feldherrnhalle cypher.
The reverse of each board features an integral strap with reinforced buttonhole, consistent with period manufacture. The boards are unmarked, as commonly encountered, and remain in excellent condition, retaining sharp detail and strong color.
The Feldherrnhalle unit was formed from select members of the SA and was known for its elevated training standards and elite status within the Heer. Insignia associated with this formation are significantly rarer than standard Heer examples and are highly sought after by collectors of elite German military units.
A strong and authentic example suitable for advanced uniform collections or focused studies of specialized Wehrmacht formations. Only available at Collectors Crossroads.
