This is a textbook example of a WWII-era Luftwaffe M35 helmet with double decals, manufactured by Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke (SE) and sized 64. This Luftwaffe helmet has the lot number, "3796". The helmet retains both the Luftwaffe eagle decal on the right side and the tri-color national shield on the left, both showing expected wear and flaking but remaining over 75% visible. The field-grey-blue finish is largely original, with honest patina and scattered scratches from use.
The liner is original and size-marked, with aged but intact leather pads, drawstring, and dome stamp visible. The chinstrap appears original to the piece, with steel hardware and correct early-war stitching. M35 helmets with full Luftwaffe decals are significantly rarer than Army variants, particularly those that retain both decals (which were ordered removed after 1940).
This helmet would have been worn by an enlisted Luftwaffe ground troop, flak gunner, or field engineer in early-to-mid war operations. Double decal Luftwaffe M35s in untouched condition, complete with liner and strap, are increasingly scarce, making this a standout collectible for WWII headgear specialists.
