An extremely desirable earlyM35 Double Decal SS Helmet, a very rare surviving early example that would be a top shelf piece in virtually any collection. The exterior of this helmet retains an incredible 80 percent of the original early dark paint finish with many battle nicks and scratches. Both of the decals are the correct ET type rates. TheNational Socialist Party decal is 90% complete with dark burn marks on white section. The SS Runes Decal is over 90% complete with some loss at top of decal, some gashes and chipping, typical age toning and combat use. The inside skirt of the steel shell is stamped “ET64” indicating manufacture by the firm of Eisenhüttenwerk Thale. The lot number “4062” is stamped in the rear of the skirt.
The Size 54 marked leather liner inside is complete, original, untouched, and in excellent condition, with its original draw string, and contains a barely readable name “HZ". The liner is complete and shows only wear and does not have any tears or rips or general damage. Included which looks tone original to the helmet is a complete chin strap folded over the brim of the helmet in combat fashion. This M35 Double Decal SS Helmet is an absolutely stunning example of this iconic SS helmet type.
