A WW2 NSKK (National Socialist Motor Corps) 1st Pattern Crash Helmet, constructed of blackened, grained leather with stitched-on protective side and rear panels. The front center features an early pattern metal eagle insignia, identifying it as an NSKK-issued helmet. The helmet includes a short stitched leather visor and a padded leather crown insert (currently loose). The helmet exhibits visible scuffing to the raised protective bars, consistent with field use. One wing has been repaired, but the helmet remains in solid collectible condition.
The NSKK was responsible for military transport, driver training, and logistics for the German armed forces. These helmets were used for both ceremonial and practical purposes, particularly for motorcycling units operating within Germany and occupied territories. This is a rare, well-preserved example of an original NSKK crash helmet, making it an exceptional addition to any WW2 militaria collection.
