German WWII K98 Mauser Triple-Cell Ammunition Pouches | Pair | Karl Bauer 1939

An excellent matching-type pair of original German WWII black leather ammunition pouches designed for the Karabiner 98k rifle, the standard German service rifle of the Second World War.

Each pouch contains three individual ammunition cells, with each compartment designed to hold two five-round stripper clips of 7.92x57mm Mauser ammunition. A single pouch could therefore carry approximately 30 rounds, while the standard pair worn on either side of the belt provided a soldier with 60 rounds of readily accessible rifle ammunition.

The pouches are constructed from durable pebble-grained black leather with individual closure studs, rear belt loops, and D-rings used in conjunction with the soldier's supporting Y-straps.

One pouch is particularly desirable for its clear period maker and date stamp: "Karl Bauer, Waldbröl, 1939." The 1939 date places it directly at the opening of the Second World War and adds excellent early-war collector interest.

These are classic German infantry equipment pieces and are ideal for completing a K98 rifle display, infantry mannequin, equipment collection, or general WWII militaria setup.
