This is an original WWII Wehrmacht Heer NCO/EM overseas cap (Feldmutze), featuring a field gray-green wool body and a two-tone ribbed cotton lining-typical of early- to mid-war manufacture. The cap remains in mint condition with only light wear. It features a hand-sewn national eagle in subdued gray thread, and a pre-/early-war dark green-backed tricolor cockade (rosette) below. The cap is maker-marked, though the stamp has faded beyond legibility.
Feldmutzen were standard side caps issued to German enlisted men and non-commissioned officers across all fronts. Early war examples like this-especially with hand-applied insignia and dark green cockades-are harder to find, as later war production favored machine-stitched insignia and simplified manufacturing methods.
This cap is a sharp and well-preserved example of a regulation Wehrmacht cap that would have been worn by frontline infantry and support units during some of the most pivotal years of WWII.
