A well-preserved German WWII Dutch volunteer sleeve shield associated with the Waffen-SS formations known as “Nederland.” The insignia is a woven three-color shield designed for sleeve wear and is described as a Dachau-type production example.

The Dutch volunteer formation began as the Vrijwilligerslegioen Nederland in 1941, was later reorganized as the 4th SS Volunteer Panzergrenadier Brigade Nederland, and ultimately became the 23rd SS Volunteer Panzergrenadier Division “Nederland.” The formation fought primarily on the Eastern Front.

This example is a veteran bring-back and survives in near-mint condition, making it an attractive piece for collectors of Dutch volunteer and Waffen-SS cloth insignia.
