This is an original Imperial German WWI Enlisted Man’s “Gott Mit Uns” belt buckle, dating to World War I (1914–1918), accompanied by an attached cut section of its original belt. Belt buckles of this type were standard issue for enlisted personnel of the Imperial German Army and prominently reflect the monarchic and religious symbolism of the Kaiserreich during the First World War.

The buckle is constructed in aluminum, a material commonly used during the later war years as shortages affected traditional brass production. The design features a circular central medallion with a detailed Prussian crown, the raised inscription “GOTT MIT UNS” (“God Is With Us”), and a laurel spray beneath, all set within the classic rectangular enlisted pattern. The attached belt section is stamped “Hans Deiter 1918 Augsburg,” providing clear wartime dating and identifiable manufacturer attribution. This is a solid and authentic example of Imperial German WWI militaria, well suited for an Imperial German Army collection and particularly appealing due to the retained, stamped belt fragment.
