A highly rare experimental German SS Camouflage Jacket, reportedly produced at the end of WWII has an unusual pattern and differing from standard SS designs. This camouflage features blended camo-colored "rain straight" lines, a precursor to post-war designs that used black rain streaks. This experimental design showcases a unique blending of camo-colored rain straights, instead of the later and more common, black-colored rain straight look.
The jacket features a hood, is made from a durable cotton or cotton blend, and exhibits staining on the inside flaps and throughout the interior, indicating field use. It was acquired from the Nesmith collection, known for its high-quality SS artifacts, giving it incredibly strong provenance. However, due to its experimental nature, the jacket’s wartime authenticity remains open to interpretation.
