This scarce Italian WWII MVSN officer’s Becco d’Aquila dress dagger is a highly attractive Fascist-era edged weapon complete with its rare original hanger assembly. The dagger features a gleaming 7 inch aluminum blade showing only faint runner marks, paired with a dramatic hilt crowned by a fierce eagle head pommel. The black grips bear the golden fascio emblem, while the original scabbard retains its black finish. The piece is further enhanced by its full double leather hangers, showing honest patina, and an eagled brass belt clasp. The dagger remains solid and intact overall.

The MVSN, or Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale, was the Fascist militia commonly known as the Blackshirts. Officer dress daggers such as this were worn as formal sidearms and symbols of rank, service, and political identity within Mussolini’s Italy. The Becco d’Aquila, or “eagle’s beak,” style is especially recognizable because of its aggressive eagle-head pommel, combining Roman-Fascist symbolism with martial presentation. Complete examples with original hangers are far scarcer than daggers alone, as leather and suspension fittings were often separated, damaged, or lost over time.

This is a strong and visually impressive Italian Fascist officer dagger, elevated significantly by the rare survival of its original scabbard and double hanger rig. The bright blade, golden fascio grip emblem, eagle pommel, and complete suspension system give it the full presentation collectors want in a premier MVSN edged weapon. Only available at Treasure Trove Auctions.

Dimensions: Blade measures approximately 7 inches.
