Post WWII Painting Of German Panzer Officer Colonel Joachim Peiper - One-of-a-kind! Note on back of painting: Col Peiper was tried in Dachau and found guilty for the Malmedy Massacre of Dec 16 1944 during the battle of the bulge. He was sentence to hang and changed to life in prison, served seven years and set free. Moved to small town called Vesoul on border of Germany & France. Town people did not want him living there and warned him they would kill him. He sent his wife and two sons back to Germany and he was shot and burned down in his house. People in La Glenize a town in Belguim where Col Peipers tank sits in town square told me the story. Went later to town of Vesoul town people told me what happened. Got story from French newspaper written in French. John.P.Napoleon. Size 26 x 22 Inch
