This rare and beautifully preserved18th-century Spanish plug bayonetfeatures a double-edged steel blade with a rich patina and a finely polished horn grip capped with a spherical pommel. The decorative crossguard and silver-toned fittings reflect classic Iberian styling from the late 1700s, showcasing the blend of function and flair typical of Spanish arms. Plug bayonets were designed to be inserted directly into the barrel of a musket, effectively transforming the firearm into a short pike for use in close-quarters combat.
