History
These shorts are a rare artifact from the Hitler Youth, specifically tied to the Deutsches Jungvolk (DJ), the junior branch for boys aged 10–14. The Medical Proficiency Badge featured on the front was introduced in 1937 and served as a symbol of physical and ideological training achievement. The phrase "Für Leistungen im H.J." underscores the propaganda-laced rewards system of the Nazi regime, designed to foster loyalty and physical readiness in youth. Surviving garments like these are extremely scarce, as they were heavily used, often discarded, and rarely preserved.
Provenance
The Late Clyde Davis Collection - as seen in Military Advisor Magazine 2024 – Clyde R. Davis was an avid German WW2 Collector specializing in Hitler Youth memorabilia.

Honest Wear or As Found – Standard wear, medium to heavy use, or other wear/patina that adds to the item’s character and authenticity. Typically the state of most antiques and antiquities.
