This Italian Army Officer’s Dagger dates to the pre-Mussolini period of Italy in the late 1920s to early 1930s. It features a tri-foil steel blade, designed for dress wear rather than combat, and a ribbed and corded Bakelite grip, providing a firm hold. The brass scabbard and decorative brass pommel showcase traditional Italian craftsmanship, and a symbol is visible on the crossguard, possibly indicating a specific military unit or production mark.
This rare and early Italian military dagger predates the formal adoption of the Mussolini-era Fascist dress daggers. It is a scarce find for collectors of Italian militaria, pre-WWII officer’s daggers, or edged weapons from the interwar period.
