This exceedingly rare WWII German Wehrmacht paraffin candle package remains unopened and contains 12 pieces totaling 500 grams. The package was produced for the German Army by Jos. Almann Jun. of Vienna, a firm associated with watches, fluorescents, smokeless pitch torches, and lighting supplies since 1854. The package is marked with the date 9 12 42, corresponding to December 9, 1942, along with the attribute marking H24. The printed instructions describe the candles as suitable for light holder tubes and support plates of unit lanterns, with a warning to keep dry.

Field lighting was an essential but often overlooked part of wartime military logistics. Candles of this type were used in bases, buildings, field positions, and lantern systems, providing practical illumination in conditions where electricity was unavailable, restricted, or tactically unsafe. Unlike better-known bunker lights, consumable paraffin candles were typically used up during the war, making unopened surviving packages exceptionally scarce.

This unopened 1942-dated package is a remarkably preserved piece of German wartime supply history. Its rarity, intact packaging, and direct Wehrmacht utility make it an unusual and museum-grade addition to a serious WWII field equipment, logistics, or home front collection.
