This is an original WWII Soviet Order of Alexander Nevsky, bearing a very early serial number, #6302, indicating it was awarded in the early stages of the decoration's issuance.

Produced by the famed Monetny Dvor mint, the multi-piece silver and enamel construction features the medieval Russian prince and military hero in profile, surrounded by ornate enamel banners and a Kremlin starburst. The back is clearly stamped with the award number and official Soviet mint hallmark.

Established in July 1942, the Order of Alexander Nevsky honored Red Army officers who demonstrated bold leadership and tactical brilliance while outmaneuvering superior enemy forces.

Named for the 13th-century prince who defended Russia from German and Swedish invaders, the award carried deep cultural and military resonance. Of the over 50,000 awarded during WWII, only a small fraction bear low early-issue serials like this one, indicating it likely belonged to a commander recognized for critical mid-war victories during battles such as Kursk, Smolensk, or the Caucasus campaigns.

Comparable awards with serial numbers in the 20,000+ range have fetched thousands at market and auction, making this lower number (#6302) an especially desirable and rare opportunity for Soviet and WWII collectors alike.
