This exceptional German WWII Schutzpolizei (Protection Police) Long Dress “Walking Out” Bayonet by Clemen & Jung of Solingen is offered here in mint condition and retains its complete original configuration. The bayonet features a beautifully preserved stag-horn grip with an aluminum police insignia firmly attached to the grip, secured between an oak-leaf decorated upswept crossguard and a finely detailed stylized eagle's head pommel. The single-edged blade with fuller bears spine markings including a "B" with starburst, along with "A" and "9", and is unit marked "S. Br I 1648", likely denoting issue to the Schutzpolizei, Breslau, First Precinct. Notably, the marking on the blade corresponds with the marking found on the interior backside of the scabbard, a highly desirable matching characteristic that further supports period authenticity and confirms the originality of the set as carried during the World War II era. The original leather washer remains present.
The bayonet is accompanied by its original black leather scabbard with nickel-plated brass mounts showing only minimal finish loss, as well as the correct black leather frog with aluminum rivets in excellent condition.
