This 1864 U.S. Cavalry Sword, manufactured by Emerson & Silver of Trenton, NJ, is a superbly preserved example of a battle-ready weapon issued during the height of the Civil War. The blade is clearly marked with “U.S.,” “C.E.W.,” and the year “1864,” verifying its official wartime manufacture. Included is the original metal sheath, adding remarkable completeness to the piece.
