This is a one of a kind collectible US Civil War Model 1832 Foot Artillery Sword marked Wester & Co., a distinguished Solingen-based maker (c.1820–1870), known for quality military blades. Styled after the Roman gladius, this short, heavy-bladed weapon was a standard issue for artillery units. It bears the rare Swiss arsenal mark "ZZ" in shield over '50.', indicating Zurich ZeughausZ inspection—a highly unusual and desirable detail.
This offering includes the original metal scabbard, hanger, and the leather belt, which is adorned with brass flaming bomb and crossed cannon buckles—a complete and rare assembly. The sword and accessories reflect the functionality, durability, and craftsmanship of mid-19th century military gear and are rarely found together in such intact condition.
