This rare War of 1812 era American Light Cavalry saber is a highly attractive early American edged weapon, featuring a dramatically curved imported blade, brass hilt, aged ivory grip, full brass scabbard, and surviving portions of its original leather hangers. The blade was likely imported from England and retains elaborate engraved decoration, including patriotic American motifs and the word "Warranted" in gold near the base. The decorative etching remains clearly visible along the blade, giving the saber tremendous visual and historical appeal.
