The approximately 29.5 x 22 inch artwork prominently depicts two of the most famous fighter pilots of the Second World War, Major Erich "Bubi" Hartmann and Major Gerhard "Gerd" Barkhorn. Hartmann became the highest-scoring fighter ace in aviation history with 352 credited aerial victories, while Barkhorn was himself one of the Luftwaffe's leading fighter pilots. The display also carries the identified signature of Hans-Ekkehard Bob, a Luftwaffe fighter ace credited with 60 aerial victories, along with the signature of another German ace whose identity has not yet been established.

The framed presentation is particularly impressive, combining the signed lithograph with an original WWII Luftwaffe Pilot/Observer Badge, featuring the flying eagle within an oak and laurel wreath, as well as an original WWII Luftwaffe visor cap eagle.
