Original German WWII NSFK Fairey Battle Aircraft Identification Model Kit | Rare Unbuilt Paper Set | Framed

A fascinating and extremely unusual piece of original WWII German aviation material, this complete paper model kit was produced for the National Socialist Flying Corps, or NSFK, as an aircraft identification and instructional aid.

The kit depicts the British Fairey Battle light bomber in approximately 1:33 scale and was intended to be assembled into a three-dimensional model for aircraft recognition training. Rather than depicting a German aircraft, the kit taught German military and pre-military personnel how to recognize an enemy British aircraft from multiple angles.

The printed text identifies the piece as Order No. 13, priced at 50 Reichspfennig, and published by Verlag Dr. M. Matthiesen & Co., Berlin SW 68 under the authority of the Corps Leader of the NS Flying Corps. The instructions specifically state that the sheets were restricted for distribution to Wehrmacht offices and approved aircraft identification training groups and schools, adding considerably to their historical interest.

Because these paper kits were designed to be cut apart and assembled, surviving complete and unbuilt examples are exceptionally difficult to find. Most were used as intended, damaged during training, or simply discarded.
