This World War I period German Artillery Officer's Sword, marked with the coveted ACS scales marker mark, indicates it was crafted by Alcoso Werks Solingen, a renowned and exceptional sword maker of the period. The blade features bright, smooth steel surfaces with a great polish, showcasing the high-quality preservation of the swords blade. The P-Guard hilt includes a single bottom knuckle-guard, and the wire-bound, leather-covered wooden grip retains its black leather covering. This Artillery Officer's Sword is a fine example of such an aged piece of WW1 militaria.

The sword is complete with its original, black-painted iron scabbard, which includes an integral single suspension loop and drag. The scabbard is in rough condition, with ~80% of its finish intact and light abrasions. adding to its value and collectability. The hilt shows light staining and mottling.

Artillery Officer's Swords from this period are highly sought after due to them being found in very poor condition, unlike this example. This particular sword, with its well-preserved condition and original components, is a rare find. Swords bearing the ACS scales logo are considered even more valuable due to their limited production and the high standards maintained by the manufacturer. The combination of the P-Guard hilt, wire-bound grip, and original scabbard makes it a coveted piece for collectors of military artifacts.
