World War I era US Army officer or NCO pistol rig comprised of multiple period components associated with early 20th century American military field equipment. The set is centered around an M1912/1917 pattern tan canvas web belt featuring darkened brass hardware and a T-style buckle fastener.
Attached to the belt is an M1916 leather holster for the M1911 .45 caliber pistol, embossed with the US oval on the flap and stamped on the reverse “G. & K. / 1917 / A.G.” for Graton and Knight Manufacturing Company. Also included is a three-cell M1918 mounted magazine pouch in tan canvas, ink stamped internally “Gregory and Read Co. / Lynn, Mass. / 10-18”.
The grouping further includes an M1910 canvas first aid pouch stamped “R.I.A. 1917” for Rock Island Arsenal, modified with a period-attached US Army infantry collar disk featuring crossed rifles. Contained within the pouch is a Carlisle Model first aid packet housed in a metal tin manufactured by Handy Pad Supply Co. and Conray Products Company. The reverse is embossed “With Sulfanilamide”, indicating World War II era production. Completing the set are three steel half-moon clips for the M1917 revolver and two .45 caliber cartridges with REM-UMC 18 headstamps.
