Original World War I Imperial German MG 08 Maxim machine gun barrel, chambered for the standard German 7.92×57mm (8mm Mauser) cartridge. Components from the iconic MG 08 remain highly collectible, as they represent one of the most important machine gun designs of the First World War and a weapon that played a central role in German infantry operations across the Western and Eastern Fronts.
This barrel measures approximately 28 7/16 inches in overall length and retains numerous Imperial German inspection and production markings. One side of the barrel block is marked "S" over an Imperial Eagle, while the opposite side is stamped "S" over "7,92" and "Sa." The brass bushing bears a crown over Fraktur-script "G" and is additionally stamped "ODS" twice. Additional markings include "17", indicating 1917 production, along with "BSJ33."
